Reebok Classics Presents: Prequel to a Classic with Swizz Beatz

Swizz Beatz and Reebok Classics threw a slamming party at NYC’s Espace for Reethym of Lite, the global campaign fusing music, dance, art and style, head up by Swizz. It was his first-ever event collaboration since taking the reins as Classics Global Curator. 

The night brought out hip-hop heavyweights P Diddy, Pharrell, Clive Davis, Busta Rhymes and Alicia Keys, and apexed with an explosive performance by Swizz featuring Lloyd Banks. Jamel Shabazz: Street Photographer [The Trailer]

Photographer Jamel Shabazz, the man who brought us the must have book “Back In The Days and most recently Seconds of My Life“, is the subject of this new documentary by Wild Style director Charlie Ahearn who follows Shabazz’s journey from a Brooklyn youth, to NYC street and subway photographer.  The documentary has interviews with Fab 5 Freddy, DJ Bobbito Love and KRS One. We brought you the trailer last month about, Influencers: How Trends & Creativity Become Contagious, and now they’ve released the documentary in its entirety.

It’s a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment. The film attempts to understand the essence of influence, what makes a person influential without taking a statistical or metric approach.

It was written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture.  “Influencers” belongs to the new generation of short films, webdocs, which combine the documentary style and the online experience.  Check it out.
