Air Jordan I – The NBA Banned Shoe

Being that EF is made up of vintage Air Jordan fanatics, we couldn’t bypass the pair that started it all, the black & red Air Jordan I a.k.a. the NBA banned shoe.  For those that don’t know back in 1985 (Banned on October 17th, to be exact) the NBA had a white sneaker rule that was broken when a young MJ dawned the black & red editions of the AJ1’s versus the initial design of the white, black & red (which the NBA still had beef with).

Anyway, to commemorate the ban, Nike will re-release the black & red’s with a few additions such as the “X” on the heel, ankle cushions and explanatory insoles.  Classic.
