2012 Dodge Charger SRT8

Brawn just got a little more brains. The 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 is the result of a revamping of Dodge’s performance models. Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of Dodge Brand and Chrysler Group stated “The new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 builds on the iconic four-door fastback coupe design of the all-new Charger and adds a much larger power band across the rpm range, along with intelligent performance attributes and safety and creature comforts for customers who are passionate about performance driving.” The New SRT-8 features a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine, which delivers an estimated 465 of tire shrieking horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of neck snapping torque for power across a significantly wider rpm range then in previous models.

The new race inspired paddle shift system, blended with the newly introduced Two-mode adaptive damping suspension, creates an all around F-1 feel. The suspension also allows for selectable tuning and also automatically adapts to road and driver inputs for proper vehicle control in any given condition. The standard 20” inch forged aluminum wheels make the car grip and accelerate with ease, while the 4 piston Brembo calipers in the front and rear make it stop just as fast. [via]
